Thomson is committed to managing the effects it has on the environment. Impact of Thomson employees and operations will be monitored in a cost effective and reasonable manner. These results will be considered by Thomson management in efforts to revise policy and operations in an effort to improve our environmental footprint. Thomson promotes on-going research and development through sourcing and procuring fuel-efficient machinery, training in driving techniques to reduce emissions, and the further education of employees recognizing that all our actions have consequences to the environment.

We fully recognize that through our daily operations we inevitably impact the environment in a number of ways. Thomson challenges itself to minimize the potentially harmful effects of our operational activities, wherever and whenever possible. As the size of the Thomson Terminals fleet increases so do our concerns and efforts in minimizing emissions, energy usage and the overcrowding of our roadways.

- Promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, while reducing consumption of material whenever possible
- Work with suppliers and customers to minimize the impact of their operations on the environment
- Include environmental issues in Thomson training programs and encourage implementation of sound environmental practices
- Minimize waste in all operations
Thomson is proud to participate in the FleetSmart program in conjunction with the Canadian government's Department of Natural Resources. Thomson is also pleased to participate in the Smartway Partnership in collaboration with the U.S Environment Protection Agency. All measures taken in our efforts to reduce our environmental footprint.
